It starts with a radio signal.

At the heart of every Invisible Fence® Brand wired system is a radio frequency signal. These signals operate at a much lower frequency making them reliable, interference free, and consistent for years to come.

The Control Panel is the engine of the system. It's typically installed in a discreet location like your garage or basement, and it broadcasts the signal continuously along an insulated boundary wire buried around the perimeter of your property.

The Boundary Wire Creates Your Pet's Safe Zone

Once the boundary wire is in place, the Control Panel generates a signal field outward from the buried cable. Other systems emit signal on all sides of the wire, including inward, toward your home. Invisible Fence® Brand's Boundary Plus® system does not create the same kind of inward signal, which is why the Boundary Plus® offers up to 30% more room to play than other leading in-ground pet fences.

This signal field defines your pet's boundary, the invisible line they learn not to cross. The wire can be customized to fit virtually any yard shape or size, making it a flexible solution for properties where a traditional fence isn't practical or permitted.

The Computer Collar® Receiver Does the Work

Your pet wears a Computer Collar® Receiver, which acts much like a radio picking up a broadcast signal. As your dog approaches the boundary, the collar first emits an audible warning tone. If your pet continues toward the boundary, the collar delivers a brief static correction. It's designed to get your dog's attention in the moment and reinforce what they've already learned through training.

The correction level is customized to your individual pet, ensuring it's always at the right level for their size, temperament, and sensitivity.

Boundary Flags Help Your Pet Learn

During the initial training period, Invisible Fence® Brand boundary flags are placed along the perimeter to give your pet a visual reference for where their boundary is located. As your dog learns and their behavior adapts, the flags are gradually removed.
