Yes! Our trainers work with dogs of all shapes, sizes, behaviors, and backgrounds. Manners trainers have experience not just with training, but the acclimation process of bringing a new pet home. They can work with you to prepare you and your home prior to you bringing the pup home.

Absolutely! Positive reinforcement is the foundation of our training-but we use a balanced, thoughtful approach to create real-world results. We focus heavily on rewarding desirable behaviors with praise, food, and fun games, making training enjoyable, motivating, and something dogs truly want to participate in. When learning is rewarding, progress happens faster and sticks longer. Just like with people, clear communication is essential. In addition to reinforcing what we want to see, we calmly teach dogs how to understand expectations.

When an undesirable behavior occurs, we may introduce simple verbal markers like “ah-ah” or use spatial awareness to provide gentle, fair guidance. This combination allows us to create clear rules, consistency, and confidence-helping dogs understand both what to do and how to succeed within the family environment.

Yes! Once your pup has a solid foundation, your trainer will decide when they’re ready to practice skills in real‑world settings. We regularly train in neighborhoods, parks, department stores, restaurants, and other public locations chosen to support your goals-so your dog learns to succeed wherever life takes you.

We don’t work with dogs who have a bite history, require a muzzle, or need sedation—those cases are best handled by a qualified behavior specialist. Our focus is basic obedience: building strong relationships, confidence, and clear expectations. If your dog is beginning to show signs like assertive barking, anxiety, or low confidence around people, pets, or new environments, our program may still be a good fit.
