The rare incidence of a pet crossing through an actual Invisible Fence boundary can usually be attributed to one of three factors:

1. Drained batteries. Drained batteries are easily preventable by ensuring the Power Cap battery is changed every 3 months. We even offer battery delivery plans so you have one less thing to think about.
2. Pets not wearing the Computer Collar unit. The Computer Collar unit should be worn every time the pet is outdoors.
3. Wire breaks. Wire breaks are rare but can occur when homeowners are digging near the wire with a shovel, irrigating their lawn, rodent chewing, etc. Should a wire break occur we recommend contacting us immediately to have the boundary wire fixed. In the meantime, the pet should be kept safe by using another method of containment.

Yes, with an Invisible Fence® Brand Power Cap battery in place, both the Invisible Fence® GPS Collar and other system units are waterproof. If the collar strap becomes wet, it is recommended that it be removed from your pet and be allowed to air dry before replacing the collar on your pet’s neck.
