More Happy Tails

Before we had the Invisible Fence® Brand system installed I had to chase after our dog as she chased after the teenagers on skateboards, the garbage trucks, whatever. Sometimes in my bathrobe! It was dangerous for Sophie and I usually looked ridiculous running after the dog. Since the Invisible Fence® Brand system was installed and we went through the training, Sophie has the freedom to run and play safely. The fence works great!

Moline Fire Department Receives Donated Pet Oxygen Masks

First Responders at the Moline Fire Department are receiving four animal rescue oxygen mask kit through a donation from Invisible Fence® of the Quad Cities.
The Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA) Members and Invisible Fence® Brand are teaming up to ensure Fire Departments and First Responders throughout the state are equipped with specially designed oxygen mask kits in an effort to save more pets from succumbing to smoke inhalation.

First Responders at the Moline Fire Department are receiving four animal rescue oxygen mask kit through a donation from Invisible Fence® of the Quad Cities. They will be equipped with masks after Thursday’s training session and demonstrations. Dr. Matt Nelson of Maple Ridge Vet Clinic also board member of the Illinois Veterinary Medical Association will provide training to the department and demonstrate how the masks are used to save pets.

Although the number of pets that die in fires is not an official statistic kept by the U.S. Fire Administration, industry web sites and sources have cited an estimated 40,000 to 150,000 pets each year that die in fires; most succumbing to smoke inhalation. In most states, emergency responders are unequipped to deal with the crisis. The donation of these specially designed and potentially lifesaving animal oxygen mask sets enable Rescue Squads to efficiently administer oxygen to a stricken animal.

This donation is part of a national effort called Project Breathe™ to equip fire stations across the U.S. and Canada. Invisible Fence® Brand has a commitment to pet safety that extends beyond electronic pet containment by funding deserving projects that help to save the lives of pets. More information is available at: www.invisiblefence.com/O2. Invisible Fence® Brand is proud to partner with the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA) on Project Breathe™.
